GTC has always focused on direct investments by establishing, jointly with strategic
local business partners, companies in the financial services, investment banking
industry and in other selected sectors in the region. GTC provides its investors
the opportunity to participate in these companies through investment funds and portfolio
structures. GTC expect these direct investments, whilst contributing to the development
of the local economies and the Islamic finance industry, to provide GTC with openings
to expand its activities in the Gulf region. With the support of these companies,
GTC will be well positioned to deliver products and services to a wider market and
a broader customer base.
GTC'S PHILOSOPHY IN DIRECT INVESTMENTS & DEAL FLOW
At GTC we draw on our experience to better serve GTC's direct investment companies
in developing and establishing strategic relationships, recruit management teams,
structuring competitive financing and providing ongoing operating support. GTC views
itself as an important resource to GTC's direct investment companies and consider
their needs to be GTC's highest priority. GTC also actively assists in generating
cooperation between its portfolio companies in forming strategic relationships.
GTC invests in companies which are industry leaders or have the opportunities to
increase market share, and acquires controlling equity stakes to have a significant
influence on the management and the operation of the companies.
During GTC's short span of operations, GTC has developed a reputation for ingenuity
in direct investments particularly in the Arabian Gulf region. GTC's senior management
is well experienced and either has held or is holding responsibilities in the banking
and general industry. GTC's subsidiaries and associate companies are also important
sources of referral for investment opportunities. GTC maintains close relationships
with the commercial and investment banks in the region for sourcing business transactions.
GTC's association with accounting firms, lawyers and professional firms is also
an important avenue to identify opportunities.
